Overview
NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is a coenzyme found in every living cell. It acts as an electron carrier in the conversion of nutrients into ATP, the molecule cells use for energy, and activates sirtuins, a family of proteins that regulate DNA repair and metabolic signalling.
This dual role in both energy production and cellular maintenance makes it one of the most extensively studied molecules in ageing and metabolic research.
Research Applications
- Studying the role of NAD+ in mitochondrial ATP production and cellular bioenergetics
- Investigating NAD+-dependent DNA repair mechanisms and PARP enzyme activity at a molecular level
- Examining sirtuin activation and its relationship to cellular stress response and senescence
- Research into NAD+ depletion models and their effect on mitochondrial and metabolic function across tissue types
Commonly Paired With
Frequently studied alongside SS-31 in combined mitochondrial function research, and with Epithalon in broader cellular longevity and DNA repair pathway protocols. Vial format requires Bacteriostatic Water for reconstitution; available separately.
Storage & Handling
Vial: Store lyophilised compound at -20°C. Once reconstituted, store at 2°C–8°C and use within 14 days. Sensitive to light — handle accordingly. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Pen: Store at 2°C–8°C. Keep away from direct light and heat. Do not freeze once formulated.
